Women Working Together To Build Affordable Housing
Nineteen ladies of various ages, skill levels, and backgrounds gathered together on Saturday, May 15th at River Bend Gardens for Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity’s 2010 Women Build Day. Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer program for women who want to learn construction skills and make a difference by building homes and communities. Read More >
Almost Heaven Launches "A Brush with Kindness"
Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity announced its new home repair program called A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) on June 1st. ABWK is an exterior home preservation repair program that helps low-income homeowners in need with minor exterior repairs such as porch repairs, painting, landscaping, exterior clean-up, and other minor repair services. ABWK helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances, who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. Read More >
2 Houses, 2 Weeks
This summer, Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity along with volunteers will build 2 homes in 2 weeks. Our popular Blitz Build program allows volunteer groups to sponsor the building of a whole or partial house in a week for a Partner Family. It is a great opportunity for volunteers to really experience the personal side of a Habitat for Humanity build. Read More >
