Committees

If you are interested in joining any of these committees, contact the committee chairs at the email addresses or phone provided. Please check the Events and Meetings Calendar for Committee meeting dates and locations.

Construction and Site Selection Chair: Charlie Setchell csetchell@almostheavenhabitat.org
To coordinate labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need." This Committee also identifies potential sites, their availability and appropriateness for the affiliate's basic house plans, develop a site acquisition criteria policy, and maintain acquired sites.

Family Selection Chair: Karen Armstrong karmstrong@almostheavenhabitat.org
The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity.

Family Support Chair: Karen Armstrong karmstrong@almostheavenhabitat.org
To work along side the Partner Families to nurture and support them through the process of earning Sweat Equity, homeownership education, preparing for their loan closing, and adjusting to the new responsibilities that homeownership brings.

Fundraising and Community Relations Chair: John Connor jconnor@almostheavenhabitat.org
To cultivate Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity's relationship with the community and local churches by seeking shared goals and fostering awareness about affordable housing and to raise sufficient money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization in order that safe, decent housing can be built with Partner Families.
